Gerber Tips

Please find below a few useful tips that will help us produce the best possible product and save you money in the process.

  1. RS-274X are best if possible - However we are quite flexible in this area.

  2. Always Zip your files when emailing - This guarantees all the files get through.

  3. When zipping up your files to send us, always try and include the following:

    1. PCB Manufacturing Notes File - this makes sure we are quoting on the correct specifications and means we can check that all the files made it through the emailing ether.

    2. Actual Manufacturing Data - Track Side(s), Component Ident(s), Solder Mask(s) etc - labelled as shown in the PCB Manufacturing Notes

    3. Profile File- including any cut-out information that may be required.

    4. NC Drill File

    5. NC Drill Report

  4. Try and ensure Ground Planes do not go right to the edge of the PCB as this can cause a slight copper burr marring your otherwise perfect PCB.

  5. Consolidate your Drill Size Changes - lots of changes takes more time - this will definitely save you money.

  6. It is always a good idea to put text on your copper layer - saves the doubt of whether you are looking through the board or at the board.
